| Is it ok to cover my rv with a plastic tarp? Unless you have holes in the top of your motorhome do not use a plastic tarp to cover your rv especially in high heat areas as the plastic can not breath like the material most commercial covers are made of and it has been suggested that they may end up causing damage inside your motorhome or camper. What is the best fabric to choose? Some important features to consider is that the material must be breathable, water resistant, non-abrasive to the recreational vehicle, mildew and dry rot resistant and, have a high UV resistance factor. There are 2 types to look for; woven fabrics are generally thought to be the top of the line when it comes to protective covers for RV’s. Being stronger they should withstand harsh weather conditions. Non-woven Polypropylene fabrics are not recommended for low desert areas such as in Nevada, Arizona and parts of California. How do I repair a damaged vehicle cover? Generally most companies make available patch kits for coverings. Short term solutions like duct tape or other temporary repairs should be replaced as soon as possible to prevent further damage. |
